Decades of community engagement across many channels, from on-the-ground community engagement and public meetings to websites and social media have led us to recognize that uncertainty breeds fear.  Fear is often masked as anger.  And anger makes it hard to hear other opinions.  We've had the chance to study and implement methods to help communities make difficult decisions.  Step One is to increase transparency and reduce fear.  One of the most effective tools we've found for this is crayons, paper... and You!

ParticipatoryMapping.com works with many experienced professionals whose careers  encompass environmental, legal, IT, scientific, sociological, educational and many other fields.  We need all these folks available because communities have many different needs and dreams.
